Job requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED). Proof will be required after selection and at the time of enrollment in apprenticeship.
- Must sign the Pipe trades apprenticeship affidavit, after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship, indicating that the applicant is physically able to perform the work of the trade, which may include lifting and carrying 75-100 pounds without assistance; moving or lifting piping materials up or down stairs; moving and setting up heavy equipment; climbing and working off ladders at heights of 10 feet or more; working in crawl spaces; working indoors and outdoors in severe weather and extreme temperatures; and working in dirty or damp places.
- Must take an aptitude test (Work Keys Assessments) and score an average of at least 4.334 out of a total of 7 to be interviewed.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from various work sites and required classes at the approved school.
- Must pay $100 each year toward the cost of textbooks for required classes at the approved school.
- Must provide DD-214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, if applicable, after selection and at the time of enrollment in apprenticeship.
