How to apply

Job requirements
- Must be at least 17 years old at the time of application.
- Must attest in writing that they are physically able to perform the work of a Carpenter, including working on scaffolds and in confined spaces; working in inclement weather; performing constant repetitive motions; climbing and working from minimum heights of 10 feet; lifting at least 50 lbs.; and standing and stooping for prolonged periods.
- Must pass a drug test, at the sponsor's expense, after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship. If the applicant tests positive, they cannot reapply for one year.
- Must have the ability to read, interpret, and work from sketches, drawings, or blueprints.
- Must have the ability to use stationary and portable hand tools, as well as power tools.
- Must be willing to attend related instruction classes as required.
- Must have reliable means of transportation and be willing to travel to and from various job sites and required classes at the approved school.
- Must live in the geographical jurisdiction of the NASCTF: Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties.
- Must provide a military transfer card or discharge form DD-214, if applicable, after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship.
